About ULDA

United Luggage Dealers Associates (ULDA) is the successor to the National Luggage Dealers Association (NLDA) and was formed by some of its long-time members and administrators.

The NLDA, which was founded in 1925, disbanded in 2021, a victim of the pandemic-related travel recession. For nearly a century, it served as a networking resource for the luggage and leather goods industry, allowing members to contribute their expertise to the good of the industry.

ULDA was formed to continue that beneficial partnership.

The driving force behind ULDA is Ron Levine. Ron, who served as NLDA’s Import and Operations Manager for more than two decades, has a lifetime of experience in the industry.

At age 23, he took over the management of Chicago Trunk & Leather Works, a luggage dealership his grandfather founded in 1916. He ran the family business for 26 years, expanding the brand’s presence to three downtown Chicago locations.

“Our goal is to include members in complementary retail environments and work with manufacturers who support our vision,” he says.

“Our core members are retailers who wish to offer the latest travel goods and business accessories, establishing themselves as the go-to source for innovative solutions in their market.”
